Edible Wild Food
Karen is a researcher, wild food nutritionist, wild food educator, public speaker and professional writer. She has lectured for schools, a multitude of community groups, and is a sought after speaker for many notable events including the International Herbal Association. She has been interviewed on national radio, has been written about in a variety of media and has appeared on television.
Karen is a certified Master Naturalist (Lakehead University), has an S.S.W. (High Honours with Distinction), and has taken courses in medicinal herbology and nutrition. In addition to being a member of The Association of Foragers, a few other memberships she holds (and volunteers with) are with the Toronto Mycological Society, the North American Native Plant Society, the Society of Environmental Journalists, Canadian Author’s Association, York Simcoe Naturalists and the Central Canadian Federation of Mineralogical Societies.
Her main passion is teaching people about healthy eating by integrating wild food into their daily diet twelve months out of the year, even throughout the winter months.
